Top Peloton Accessories You Need to Take Your Workouts to the Next Level

My first question when I started with the peloton was: What accessories do I require?
Every newbie has this question. Now, as a dedicated peloton biker, I can tell what accessories are best for your fitness goals.
The best Peloton accessories are essential to enjoy a full Peloton experience. This article will help you find the best accessories for your bike if you have ordered a bike but are still waiting for your Peloton.
This update includes all of the latest Peloton bike accessories and also some products are 100% compatible with the Peloton Bike. All of these are Peloton must-haves in my book!
What came originally with our Peloton bike?
I can confirm that we upgraded our bike in November 2016 when it arrived and Peloton accessories were added to our purchase.
This Peloton gear was included:
- Peloton weights of three pounds; these Peloton dumbbells attach under the seat to the back and attach to the bike’s frame.
- Peloton heart rate monitor
- One pair of Peloton cycling sneakers
- Peloton mat to be used under the bike
- Pair of Peloton headphones
It was a good purchase, but not enough. Because there were two adults riding the bike. We don’t both wear the same shoe size so we would need at most one more pair.
Peloton newbies often ask whether to buy the essentials, works or family packs when purchasing a Peloton bicycle. After using a Peloton for a while now, I have learned which accessories are worth the money and which are not.
Peloton Bike mat
Peloton’s bike mat is great, but it will only be necessary if you plan to use your bike on hardwood floors. It is highly recommended if you have hardwood floors. You can store your bike on carpet if you don’t mind.
Peloton Weights for bikes
There are sizes for bikes ranging from one to three pounds. The three pounds were mine for bike rides. The holders that come with your bike fit them perfectly. They aren’t necessarily cheaper than the ones you have. They are well worth the investment if you intend to use weights in your training.
Peloton Headphones
The touch screen on my Peloton bike had built-in speakers, which I did not realize. Bluetooth headphones are also supported by the Peloton bike. You can skip the Bluetooth headphones if you already own a pair that you enjoy using for exercise. While they are comfortable, I don’t like having a wire around my ears. The built-in speakers will be used if I’m riding alone in the room. If someone from my family is present in the room, I will use my AirPods PRO.
Peloton Heart Rate Monitor
The Peloton heart monitor is the least disappointing of all the accessories in the Peloton accessory kit. It’s a rebranded Polar heart rate monitor, according to what I know. Personally, I don’t like the chest strap fit and have struggled to connect it at the start of my rides.
The Peloton HR monitor is fine for multiple riders, but no one wants to share their heart rate monitor.You will need a compatible heart rate monitor with the Peloton.
After struggling for a while with the device, I finally bought a Scosche Rhythm+ and have been very happy with it. The Peloton heart rate monitor is something I will be reviewing soon.
Peloton Shoes
The Peloton shoes have been great so far. I will likely buy them again when the current ones are worn out. They are very easy to put on and to attach to the bike.
Final verdict on the original Peloton accessories
Peloton shoes are my favorite accessory in the kit. The essentials package includes the shoes, weights and wired headphones at $159. The shoes and weights would cost $150 each, so the headphones will only be $10 more.

Heart rate monitors
Why would you want to wear a Peloton heart rate monitor? A heart rate monitor is the next step if you are serious about training your heart. It’s a must-have piece of equipment for home gyms. When you are considering investing in Peloton equipment, make sure to include a heart rate monitor.
Forget FitBit
Your FitBit can track your heart rate but it will not pair with your Peloton bike to do heart rate training. It will work with the Peloton bike to track distances and calories burned.

A heart rate monitor that gives you the assurance that you are in good health. It is an essential peloton accessory.
The HRM can be used with almost all sporting apps, including peloton. The device can be connected to your peloton screen and your workout account via Bluetooth or Ant.
It is waterproof to Ip67, so it will not be damaged by sweaty workouts. It comes with an armband that makes it easy to work out.
The heart rate monitor can be used to monitor calories burned, distance covered, and the pace of your workout. You get more than your heart rate.
Peloton Guide seems to be compatible with many other heart rate monitors, such as the WHOOP. Peloton’s heart-rate strap seems to be the only heart rate monitor with no problems.

Padded shorts or leggings

It takes some time to get used to the Peloton bike unless you have been spinning for a while.This is for your delicate lady parts as well as your manly bits.
The Peloton seat on a bike hurts. If you don’t know what I mean, a spin bike seat can be very difficult to use.

These shorts for women are great because they are padded to provide sufficient comfort while riding. There are two types 3D padding available, a thick or a thin. You can choose the one that suits you best. If you don’t have a saddle cushion, thicker padding will be preferred.
To prevent friction and abrasion, the waistline is made from soft microfiber. The Bacteriostatic treatment in the core areas prevents soreness. Silicone is used to make the hems, which aids in sweat absorption.

As part of the maintenance procedures, your peloton bike will need to be wiped clean after each exercise. Large Rag Company Towels are the best for this purpose. A fan that is small and inexpensive can make a big difference in your peloton workouts. Just hang it at the handle of your bike and you will get the wind that you deserve.
