Revolutionary Design: Kuat NV Bike Rack Review

The Kuat bike racks were well-received by us. The Kuats are a top-end, sturdy, robust hitch rack. The Kuat NV2.0 has looks, adjustability and ergonomics that make it one of the best car racks you will find. Let’s get into the details and find out why we think that the Kuat NV2.0 is a solid choice for portable bike racks.

Kuat NV 2.0 vs. Kuat NV Base

There is a lot of confusion around NV 2.0 and NV Basis, so let’s clear that up immediately. Both racks can hold two bikes up to 60 pounds. Each rack is more expensive than the Kuat NV base. The NV Base does not include the Trail doc repair stand. The NV 2.0 is also more compact when it’s installed in the hitch. It has a glossy powder finish, instead of the matte black finish found on the Base. Other than that, there aren’t many differences.

Kuat Market Positio

People who are familiar with the cycling equipment market will know that Kuat NV2.0 is one of the most expensive brands. Depending on the discount, the Thule T2 Pro XT or Yakima Tray are slightly cheaper.

There are several things that make the Kuat NV 2.0 stand out for discerning buyers.

The first difference lies in the visual aesthetics. Kuat NV2.0 may be more appealing and stylish than the other two depending on your taste. The second is that other racks do not have the same strength-to-weight ratio as the Kuat. It weighs only 52 pounds and can hold two bikes. With its fully integrated hitch locks, cable locks, and adjustable front tire cradle system, you can rest assured that your bike will not move once it is mounted. The installation is simple and requires no tools. It also features a tight hitch cam system, numerous other features, and a large number of other features that make it worth the price.

The Thule T2 Pro XTracks offer solid competition to Kuat. The Yakima is probably in third place among the bunch, sorry Yakima. Your bike carriers would be great though.

Let’s take a closer look at the Kuat’s key specifications and what they may mean for you.

Key Kuat Benefits

Kuat’s bike rack is a market leader in terms of its features. The sturdy design makes it ideal for long distance trips.

It is one of the most user-friendly racks available. The ratcheting arm can be easily tightened up and released. The therear-wheel straps are equally simple to use. Additionally, the main mast pivot has a lever that allows for the easy raising and lowering of the rack. This lever can be used with your foot so you don’t have to bend down to operate it with your hand. This is great for solo cycling.

It is easy to load a bicycle on the beam using the adjustable tire cradle at either the front or rear and the rear ratcheting belt. The cradle can also be adjusted so that the bikes are in contact less. Additionally, the ratcheting strap can adjust to fit different wheelbases. This is great for people who bike together, or have two vintage bikes with drastically different sizes (e.g. a fat bike and road bike).

Kuat NV 2.0 comes with many locks. You can expect the best. This includes:

  • Use two burly cable locks to secure bikes on racks. One for each end.
  • A hitch pin lock is used to secure the Kuat rack onto your vehicle.

It is convenient that all locks share the same key. Kuat NV2.0’s powder-coated finish is more durable than paint finishes. It is not only longer lasting, but it is also scratch resistant.

Although assembly is best done by two people, it is easy and can be accomplished with the help Kuat’s clear directions and tools. This is best done by bolting the main support mast to the tray with the two sections. By aligning the holes and bolting them tightly, you can connect the main support mast to rack. We recommend that you check the unit every two uses, just like any other self-assembly project. This will ensure that everything is working as it should.

Our Kuat Experience, Road Tst

We liked the NV 2.0 after giving it a thorough test. This included loading and unloading the Kuat carriers, as well as driving with a bicycle. It is stable and solid on the road with minimal bike movement. It is easy to load and unload bikes up to 60 pounds. Kuat is also appreciated for apploading bikes that are as heavy as they are without being damaged in transit.

We would like to limit our research to only two products, Thule Pro XT and Kuat NV 2.0. The Kuat NV2.0 has a few advantages, such as the two separate locking cables and one key to all pin locks. It can be mounted on any vehicle and is easy to use. Although it is heavy, it is sturdy and can withstand all kinds of weather. You can tilt the rack with the handle/pedal so that you can open the backdoor. It might cover your license plate depending on the vehicle’s design and build.

Using other user feedback, we found that some users who had previously used the same rack version had a few concerns. The new Kuat NV2.0 version has molded wheel cups to accommodate different wheels, an integrated steel security cord twice the length, a molded rear cap elbow and a step locking mechanism to fold the rack.

Kuat NV2.0 is without a doubt one of the most popular bike racks available today. It also ranks alongside the Thule brand and possibly the 1Up brand. It is distinguished by its sleek design, premium features, and stylish finish. There are few negative reviews about the functionality of this product. Customers rarely have objections to specifications that do not suit them. It is a true king of hitch mount racks, and bikers around the world love it.
