Today, iFITunveiled new NordicTrack(tm) Adjustable Dumbbells. These dumbbells can be voice controlled and work with Alexa. Here are the details, prices, and all other information you need!
With simple voice commands and a compatible Alexa enabled device, the new NordicTrack(tm) Adjustable Dumbbells are now capable of electronically adjusting from 5 to 50 lbs.
Mark Watterson, chief executive officer at iFIT, stated:
We are proud to present the first Alexa-compatible voice-controlled dumbbells. The patent-pending electronic adjustment removes the pain points associated with cumbersome weight changes mid-workout. It also reduces heart rate, decreases time under tension, and creates a truly uninterrupted, transformative experience.
You don’t have to speak, but the dumbbells can be quickly adjusted mechanically with just a turn of a knob.
Alexa supports the following Skills for the NordicTrack iSelect dumbbells
- You can set a weight limit: “Alexa, set the weights at 35 pounds.”
- Increase or decrease weight: “Alexa, reduce weight by 10 pounds.”
- For specific exercises, setting weight presets: “Alexa set weight for biceps curls.”
The iSelect dumbbells are able to save and automatically adjust to a user’s preset for up 15 different exercises
Classic dumbbell exercises include: overhead shoulder press, overhead curl, and lateral
Shoulder raise, front shoulder lift, triceps extension.
Deadlift, lunge and lateral lunge.

Alexa and iFIT integration:
- Use Alexa-enabled devices for weight change using voice control
- Family membership for iFIT 30 days included. iFIT auto-renew at $39 per mois plus tax
- Not required: A NordicTrack iSelect subscription is not necessary
- Future features and iFIT integrations can be supported by upgrading firmware
- You will need a 2.4 GHz internet connection

- A dumbbell can weigh between 5-50 lbs and replaces 100 lbs. The equivalent of 20 dumbbells
- Patent-pending dumbbell interlock system

Our Take
The adjustable dumbbells can be a great addition for any home gym. They can be very heavy and difficult to change weights fast. NordicTrack has created a new dumbbell design that allows you to quickly change your weight without even touching them.
The price is comparable to other adjustable dumbbells, at $429. The iSelect offers more, with an Alexa voice integration and a quick electronic weight adjuster. The value is there regardless of whether you are going to continue with the iFIT classes, and even more so if your plan is.
