What was my ordering experience? It was very simple. My order was placed online on February 12. It was quick and easy.
Once my order was completed, I was able set up delivery. April 2 was the first date available. It’s almost seven weeks away. This is about average these days, and what Peloton customers can expect.
The waiting period is not as long if you make the purchase of the Peloton bike. It seems like every day is so slow. This is compounded by the delivery anxiety. It is something that every Peloton buyer has to deal with.
Nonetheless, I have compiled everything you need to know about the Peloton bicycle delivery based on my experience and that of other users. As you wait for the equipment, it should alleviate anxiety or at the very least answer your most pressing questions.
How Long Does Peloton Delivery Take?
Unfortunately, Peloton delivery is not guaranteed. Some bikes will be delivered in less than two weeks, while others may take months. The following factors will affect the delivery time:
- The order period
- The order number at the time of placing an order
Peloton advertises significantly faster delivery times in every region, with the most notable being on the Peloton Bike.
Peloton saw an increase in orders this year due to the pandemic. This was on top of a booming production line. Shipping delays caused many customers and fitness enthusiasts to wait while their new Peloton was processed at customs.
Mid-February saw William Lynch, president of Peloton, see a “light in the tunnel” to address delivery delays. The large investment in Taiwan and the subsequent ramping up two production facilities in Taiwan helped the fitness manufacturer get back on track.
Peloton’s website continued to show faster delivery times. We reported earlier this month that delivery took in nearly all current regions. Peloton now alerts customers about even faster delivery times.

Here are the current delivery times for all products on Peloton’s website. These include the US, Canada, UK, Germany and Australia.

You may need to wait longer if you order your bike during summer, thanksgiving, or other times when most people are also considering placing an order.
The delivery team gets overwhelmed when so many people order the same bike within the same time frame. Peloton contracts other delivery companies but it doesn’t completely fill the gap.
Sometimes all the bikes are gone and you will have to wait until a new batch arrives.
Peloton will contact your about delivery within one to two business days of your order. Peloton will offer you several delivery dates to choose from, depending on the availability of their delivery. If you are not at home, it is likely that you will choose to receive your order as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the earliest possible date may be several months after the order was placed.
You can contact Peloton customer to get the earliest window if this happens to your case. They will be able to tell you if there is an opportunity.
If the window isn’t available, you can still prepare your studio, get any accessories you might need, or learn more about the bike.
Choosing your type of delivery
The Room of Your Choice
The team will contact you approximately 30 minutes prior to your delivery to discuss the safety precautions they will follow during the appointment.
We have provided all our members with the appropriate PPE to ensure their safety. These are the guidelines we ask you to follow when receiving your Peloton Bike.
- You should always wear a mask during delivery
- You should keep two metres away from the team and wait in another room as they assemble your bike.
- To maximize air circulation, open windows and doors
Our team will disassemble your bike and clean it upon arrival. Next, follow the instructions on the touchscreen to activate the Bike. Make sure to have your password ready and connect to your WIFI. Finally, use your ABC-DEF activation key to get started. Our team will help you navigate a socially-distanced orientation if you feel at ease. Our team will confirm delivery via contactless when you leave.
The team will deliver the bike, but they won’t enter your home or residence beyond that threshold.
The delivery team will contact you approximately 30 minutes prior to your delivery to confirm whether your touchscreen should be attached or removed for delivery. We recommend that you take the touchscreen off the bike if you intend to transport the Bike upstairs or down.
Our team will attach your touchscreen to the van outside if you request. The team will transport the bike through your front door. Please allow enough space for our team to move around your home without getting in contact with any obstacles. Before leaving, we will disinfect the bike and confirm delivery by a contactless method.

Can I Change My Delivery Date?
Yes, you can. Peloton is aware that your schedule may change and you may need to cancel or postpone delivery. You must change the delivery date before the bike leaves the company. Peloton will notify you by text the night before delivery. You can cancel your order as soon as possible.
How Many Peloton Delivery Guys Will There Be?
Two delivery men will usually arrive to deliver the bike to your home. If you have your studio ready, the delivery men will place the bike exactly where you need it.
They immediately place the bike on the ground and then they proceed to:
- To ensure stability, balance the bike on its transport wheels.
- Mount the touchscreen and make sure it is working
- Ensure that the bolts are tightened on the frame and pedals
They allow you to test the bike as they watch, to make sure it is in good condition.
Depending on where the bike is being installed, the whole process will take around 20 minutes. It will take longer if your bike is in an upper room or basement than a studio near the door.
Peloton recommends that you keep the route clear for delivery men to avoid any delays and keep the bike safe. You can open the door and let the delivery team do their job while you watch from afar.
The touchscreen will be separated or intact when it enters the studio. It is safer to have the touchscreen separate if the bike has to travel through corners or stairs. If the route is straight ahead and the screen looks safe, the team will attach it to the bike before it is brought.
Should I Tip the Peloton Delivery Team?
Peloton clearly states, tipping the delivery crew is up to you. It is possible to tip the guys, but it’s not required.
You can thank the guys for their installation and delivery with approximately 20 dollars.
Who Delivers the Peloton Bike?
As I said, XPO Logistics delivered my Bike plus to my Maine home. Peloton-branded Sprinter vans are everywhere near my Pittsburgh home. Peloton employees deliver Peloton products, so I think that is why I believe this.
Peloton may use at least one third-party delivery company. JB Hunt is the one. They are JB Hunt. I have not had any personal experience with them, but friends on Facebook have and they were very happy.
Peloton has its own delivery men for bike and tread deliveries. Peloton also contracts with other delivery companies to provide delivery services.
Peloton vans will deliver the treads and bikes to the owners if the deliveries are made in major cities. They contract XPO and other freight firms for deliveries to remote or rural areas.
How Do I Know Which Company Will Deliver?
Peloton will email you confirmation of shipment and track number so that you can identify which company delivered the peloton bike.
Peloton will include the name of any third-party company in your shipment email if they use it. If they deliver the shipment, however, you won’t get any mention of a third-party freight company.
Can I Choose Who Delivers My Bike?
Unfortunately, you cannot choose who delivers your Peloton bicycle. This is a right that Peloton reserves so you’ll have to wait. The good news is that you will receive the best delivery possible.
Tips to Prepare for Peloton Bike Delivery
What do you do while you wait for the delivery of your Peloton bike? It may take several months. It’s easy, get ready for the bike. There are many accessories that you can use with the Peloton bike. Why not take a look at some while you wait and go shopping occasionally? This is not all.
- You will need to prepare the area where you want your Peloton bike to be ridden. You might consider a place where it won’t be disturbed or moved constantly, as an indoor workout bike.
- If you don’t have a cover for your bike, find an area where the sun will not reach it.
- You should ensure that you have an internet connection. A WiFi speed of 10MBPS or more is best for streaming Peloton without buffering and reloadings. A stable WiFi connection will allow you to immediately set up your Peloton account once your bike arrives.
- To keep the bike safe and dust-free, clean the mat or floor where it will be parked.
- Keep everything out of the bike passage just before delivery. You don’t want delivery men tripping on items, injuring themselves, or dropping the bike during the process.
- Keep a tip handy if you have one. The delivery team will have other bikes to drop and the quicker they leave the premises, it’s better for them.
Peloton customers often ask, “Do I need to be at home to receive it?” Peloton doesn’t offer contactless delivery.
If you are uncomfortable allowing someone to stay in your home for an extended period of time, threshold delivery is available. This was actually one of the options that I was offered when I received my delivery confirmation email. Here’s the message:
We are happy to deliver your Threshold Bike through your front door if you don’t feel comfortable with an in-home delivery. You can let our Support team by replying to this email or tell our delivery team when they arrive at your home on the day for delivery
Your Peloton delivered at a threshold
There are several reasons why I wouldn’t recommend threshold delivery. You don’t have the time to ask questions. The delivery team won’t be present when you plug your Peloton bike in to make sure it turns on or enter your activation code. Third, you won’t be able to complain about the bike’s condition or point it out. I’ve heard of people complaining about bikes that were damaged.
Peloton Delivery Checklist
If I were to recommend a Peloton delivery list, what would it look like? Here you go.
- Track your order with the XPO website or Peloton support chat.
- You should identify the location where you would like your Tread or bike to be kept.
- You will need to clear a path to get your Peloton hardware from the front door to where you want it.
- All animals must be put away so that they do not interfere.
- You should always have enough cash on hand to tip your delivery driver.
- Before they leave, ask the delivery crew to review your Peloton.
- Make sure they turn on the Tread or bike before they go.
- Make sure you have all the information needed to log in.
The Peloton drivers should also take any trash with them as they go. If they don’t intend to clean up after themselves, ask them. If you are not satisfied with delivery, please call Peloton, or use the chat option on Peloton’s website.
What can I do while my Peloton is awaiting delivery?
There are two options for what you should do while your Peloton bike/Tread is being delivered. Short term, decide where you’d like to keep your equipment. It is important to know where your equipment should be placed on delivery day.
You should invest in the best accessories to make your Peloton bike more enjoyable. I have written blog posts about the must-have accessories you should buy for your Peloton Tread .
Shopping for shoes, shorts, and a padded chair
If you don’t have shoes, I will help you with that. You can find shoes from Peloton, as well as other brands that fit wider feet.
You may also want one for underneath your bike if you don’t get a mat with your delivery. Although they are not necessary, many people enjoy having them in order to capture sweat. This is my review of different types of mats you can buy for your Peloton bike.
You’ll need padded bottoms and a gel seat pad for when you are waiting on your bike. My favorites are the men’s padded shorts by Baleaf and the women’s padded shorts by Terry. The Komfy gel seat pad is my favorite. This is by far the most comfortable bike seat on the market. All of these products have been used for Power Zone Training rides on my Peloton bicycle.
Peloton Power Zone Training is a Must-Have
These accessories and must-haves can be found in my Peloton area. These accessories have made Power Zone training and all other rides much more enjoyable.
- Terry: For Power Zone training, you will want to invest in padded pants. These are the shorts I use on my Peloton.
- Baleaf: My husband is a huge fan of Baleaf shorts. You can also get a 15% discount when you shop at Baleaf.com .
- Komfy: Even if you don’t want to wear padded shorts for Peloton, invest in this gel-padded seat cover. We love ours. You can avoid sore saddles by using chamois cream and this ride glide product during your Peloton power-zone training.
- Scosche: Although Power Zone training does not include heart rate zone training I find the Scosche monitor to be more accurate.
- Vornado: To keep cool, you’ll need a fan. The Vornado pedestal fan is a favorite of all peloton riders.
- Swiftwick Socks: After riding for a while, your feet grow, you should wear thick socks. These Swiftwick socks were recommended to me by my Power Zone Challenge teammates! Velotowel provides both a towel to put on your handlebars as well as one that you can use under your bike.

The following frequently asked questions are related to Peloton delivery reschedules.
What caused my delivery to be rescheduled?
We try to avoid rescheduling deliveries but it may happen due to inclement weather or warehouse staffing limitations or transit delays. This could mean that your Bikes or Treads are not yet reaching you as expected. We will notify you as soon as possible about a rescheduled delivery or a new delivery time.
All new delivery times will be scheduled at the earliest date. We will cancel your order and issue a full refund if you do not wish to wait.
How do I find out if my delivery has been rescheduled or not?
A new delivery confirmation time will be sent to you via email and/or SMS.
Why did I have to be rescheduled multiple times?
Although we try to not reschedule deliveries, it is possible for unexpected events such as road closures or disruptions at civic and/or warehouse levels, inclement weather, or even severe weather.
We will reschedule delivery if necessary. However, as a standard practice, we will do our best to deliver your order on the earliest date.
Why didn’t someone order after me and get their product sooner than I?
The delivery process is affected by many factors. We do our best to ensure everyone receives their bike, tread, accessories, or apparel as soon as possible. However, local conditions, transit times, and availability can all play a part in the delivery time.
Peloton uses other companies to ship its products?

All the horror stories about Peloton bikes not arriving on time, I have to say that my delivery experience was amazing. It was not something I enjoyed, but it took me so long to receive my bike. It was worth the wait.
XPO was great at communicating when the bike would arrive, the driver called ahead as promised and delivery and setup were seamless. They didn’t leave any trash behind and stayed with me to show me how to use my Bike Plus. I also tipped them $20 each before they left.
