From Beginner to Pro: Peloton's Best Weight Guide for All Levels

Are weights required for Peloton workouts? What weights should you use for a Peloton classWhat weights are used in Peloton classes? These are the questions you’ll be asked about Peloton weights every day.

Peloton is a combination of strength and cardio workouts. Weights are useful when taking strength classes. Peloton offers a variety of workouts, from cycling to floor strength exercises to Bootcamps. Let’s take a look at what you need to know about incorporating dumbbells or kettlebells into your Peloton workouts.

Peloton Classes that Require Weights

Peloton classes are almost identical to
Orangetheory workouts. What more can you do to bridge the gap between a gym HIIT workout and HIIT classes that include cardio and strength?

The cardio equipment from Peloton includes the tread and the bike, while dumbbells and kettlebells can be used for strength classes.

Nevertheless, the following are peloton classes which require weights to be used

  • Strength classes
  • Peloton bike bootcamps
  • Peloton tread bootcamps
  • Intervals and arms
  • HIIT and arms

Let’s look at the details in a simplified version of each of these.

1. Strength Classes

Peloton classes are known as Strength Workouts. You can either use
resistance band or weights. They use weights. A set of weights is a must if you want to fully explore the Peloton workouts.

Strength classes are great for building muscle and a lean body.

For strength classes, you might need at least three sets for your light, medium and heavy weights. Adjustable weights are an option, which can be used to adjust the weight of different levels. They can be used for all three weight levels of workout.

2. Peloton Bike Bootcamps

Peloton Boot Camps are HIIT workouts that combine strength and cardio. You can use the bike Bootcamps for cardio training.

There are many bike Bootcamps. The shortest is 30 minutes, and the longest is one hour. The intermediate class lasts 45 minutes.

A bike Bootcamp begins with a brief warm-up that lasts around five minutes. Next, you will be doing a serious bike session for ten to 15 minutes. After that, it is time to change your shoes and go for a jog. Then, you will continue the same session, ten to 15 minutes on the ground with weights.

Bike Bootcamps are my favorite because you can use the entire session efficiently and without any boredom. The music is even more enjoyable.

3. Peloton Tread Bootcamps

The Bootcamp peloton tread is similar to the bike Bootcamp except that the tread will be used for cardio workouts and not a bike. The best thing about the tread is its ability to perform a wider variety of workouts than a bike, making it more interesting and effective.

4. Intervals and Arms/ HIIT and Arms

These workouts combine a spinning workout and strength training. These workouts may require lighter weights than the lightest of the three.

The workouts tone the upper body, especially the upper limbs. You can also work on your glutes on the bike and your abs. The workouts will help you achieve a comprehensive goal program.

Are Peloton Weight Classes on the Peloton Digital App?

Amazingly, you don’t need a tread or a bike to access the weights classes in Peloton. You can access the classes that use weights via the digital app on both Android and iOS.

You don’t need a tread or a bike to enjoy the Bootcamp benefits. The boot camps can be traded for outdoor running, spinning, or other cardio for the cardio section. The subscriptions cost only 12.99 dollars per monthly if you use the Peloton digital application. The first month is a welcome free subscription.

However, a Peloton tread or bike is always the best option. You can also access the workouts and join the Leaderboard to compete with the Peloton community. Live metrics reading is also available. A monthly subscription to the Peloton equipment will cost $39. It’s expensive, but it is worth it.

What Peloton Accessories Do You Need for Peloton Weights Classes?

Most accessories are not necessary, especially if you already own cardio equipment. You will also need the following accessories:

  • A
    yoga mat
